Spanish adventurer sets off on foot from Madrid to attend Qatar 2022 World Cup

Spanish adventurer Santiago Sánchez has begun his journey on foot from Madrid to Doha to attend FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Sanchez met Ambassador of Qatar to the Kingdom of Spain HE Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al Hamarbefore the start of his journey from Madrid, Qatari embassy in Spain said in a tweet. The ambassador wished Sanchez luck in his journey.
Sanchez’s 6,800 km journey is expected to take 11 months to reach Doha. During his stopovers in the countries he will pass through, he will plant trees as contribution to increasing awareness of the importance of preserving the environment and the need to move more towards a green economy.
According to news website Ruptly, Sanchez, a 42-year-old adventurer who loves sports, started walking from the Matapinonera Stadium in Madrid’s San Sebastian de los Reyes on Saturday heading to Qatar.
“The trip will be a journey that will make me a better person, a better human being. It will be continuous learning, nights in loneliness, and I want to share that with the people I am with,” Sanchez commented.
