The Qatari Businessmen Association hosted a business dinner in honour of the visit of the Global Advisory Council of the Wilson Center, headed by its CEO Mark Green at the majlis of QBA Second Deputy Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani Al Thani.
This was organised on the sidelines of the Doha Forum, to discuss ways to support trade exchange and boost commercial activities between Qatar and the
US.
Besides, Sheikh Dr Khalid, the dinner was attended by QBA board members Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser Al Thani and Saud Al Mana as well as QBA members Khalid Al Mannai, Sheikh Turki bin Khalid bin Thani Al Thani and Abdul Baset Al Shaibi, in addition to QBA Deputy GM Sarah Abdallah.
From Wilson Center, a group of former ambassadors and economists attended the dinner, including James Jeffrey, Alexander Farley, Jorge Woldenberg and Marissa Khurma.
Welcoming Mark Green and the accompanying delegation, Sheikh Dr Khalid said the Qatari-US relations are witnessing continuous development in all sectors., He highlighted the interest of Qatari businessmen in the American market, where there are already many Qatari investments, whether in the public or private sectors, as the US is one of the most favourable investment destinations for the Qatari businessman.
For his part, Mark Green pointed out the need to develop economic, commercial and investment relations, and to provide platforms for the private sector to build companies that contribute to maximizing its role in the economic process, stressing that the Qatari-US economic relations are very strong; as the Gulf region has become a business centre with major projects, and investments, he also praised the strength of the Qatari economy, which has proven, through various difficulties, its ability to withstand and overcome challenges.
During the discussion, QBA board member Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser Al Thani stressed the need to follow up regularly on developing the economic relations between both countries, emphasizing that the Qatari private sector is always looking forward to exploring new
opportunities.
