Qatar-Mozambique trade hits QR71 mn

President of Mozambique Filipe Jacinto Nyusi has called on Qatari investors to invest in his country, which he said offers a plenty of investment opportunities in many sectors such as services, tourism, mining, ports development, real estate and infrastructure.
The exhortation came during a meeting with officials of Qatar Chamber (QC) on Monday at the Sheraton Hotel in the presence of QC first vice-chairman Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari and board members Abdulrahman Al Ansari, Dr Mohamed bin Jawhar Al Mohamed and Khalid bin Jabor Al Kuwary.
For his part, Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari stressed that the Qatari private sector is interested to bolster cooperation relations with is counterpart in Mozambique, indicating that Qatari businessmen are looking forward to learning about Mozambique’s investment climate in Mozambique and opportunities galore for investment.
Al Kuwari noted that the two countries’ trade volume reached last year about QR71 million, which is not commensurate with the aspirations of the two friendly countries. He said enhancing cooperation between Qatari and Mozambican businessmen and forging mutual investments would help promote the trade exchange between both countries.
He also referred to the MOU which was signed between chambers of Qatar and Mozambique in 2019, noting that Qatar Chamber is eager to activate the cooperation between private sectors of both countries.
He also reiterated that Qatar Chamber encourages Qatar investors and businessmen to explore investment opportunities in Africa in general and particularly in Mozambique, as it is rife with investment opportunities in various sectors.
