Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has reiterated Qatar’s commitment to create an atmosphere of peace, stability and development through mediation initiatives and constructive dialogue.
This came during a meeting the FM had with Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres in New York.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest international development, the current crisis in Ukraine, and the latest regional development including the current situations in Palestine, Yemen, Afghanistan and Libya.
The two sides also discussed Qatar’s efforts in peace and development, as well as its multiple partnerships with UN institutions and bodies.
The FM affirmed Qatar’s commitment to supporting UN efforts through initiatives maintaining international security and peace, supporting international development efforts, enhancing and consolidating human rights, providing humanitarian aid, and participating in the collective efforts and initiatives aiming at addressing current and emerging challenges facing the region.
