Qatar-Japan ties a model for development of int’l multilateral action: FM

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has said the relations between Qatar and Japan have moved from the stage of friendship and cooperation to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
In a speech on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Qatar and Japan, the FM said, “The partnership between Qatar and Japan constitutes a model for the development of international multilateral action for global security challenges and pushing for peaceful solutions of conflicts.”
He said, “The celebration of the half-century since the launch of relations between the two friendly countries provides a renewed opportunity to consolidate the comprehensive partnership by opening new channels of cooperation and exchange of experiences.”
He added Japan is one of Qatar’s most important partners in the fields of energy, trade, investment and development.
The FM said, “Qatar looks forward to the 2022 FIFA World Cup as an opportunity to start a new phase of serious work to build deeper relations and to strengthen the existing strategic partnership between the two friendly countries.”
