Qatar Chamber held a meeting on Wednesday with the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between them and areas of cooperation between the Qatari private sector and its Brazilian counterpart.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Director General for Government Relations and Committees Affairs Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansouri and Institutional Relations Director at the Arab Brazilian Chamber Fernanda Baltazar.
On his part, Mansouri stressed the strong relations between Qatar and Brazil at all levels, especially the economic and commercial aspects, noting that there are a lot of Brazilian products in the Qatari market.
As for the trade exchange, Mansouri said the two countries’ trade volume grew from QR2.1 billion in 2020 to QR3.8 billion last year.
He also assured that Qatar Chamber is interested to encourage Qatari investors and businessmen to explore opportunities available in Brazil and bolster cooperation between the Qatari and Brazilian private sector.
In turn, Baltazar praised the robust relations between Qatar and Brazil, stressing that developing cooperation ties with Qatar is important to Brazil.
She also underscored that the Arab Brazilian Chamber attaches great interest to activating trade between Brazil and Arab states, as it highly welcomes cooperation with Qatar Chamber.
Baltazar said there are many activities that will be held this year, expressing hope for the participation of Qatari businessmen and investors in them, such as the ‘APAS 2022’ exhibition that will be held in São Paulo in May 2022, and includes Arab pavilions, in addition to an economic forum in July with broad participation from Brazil and Arab states.
