MoCI undersecy attends event marking Qatar’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka

Ministry of Commerce and Industry Undersecretary Sultan bin Rashid Al Khater participated in a reception organised by the Embassy of Japan in Qatar to mark the launch of Qatar’s pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan.
The ceremony was attended by Ambassador of Japan to Qatar HE Satoshi Maeda, members of the preparation committee for Qatar’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, as well as several chief executives of Japanese companies in Doha.
Khater said Qatar was pleased to participate and contribute to the success of Expo 2025 Osaka, alongside other friendly countries, as well as regional and international organisations. Qatar’s involvement stems from the long-term relations between the country and the friendly nation of Japan, which is currently witnessing growth and development in all fields, he pointed out.
On the economic level, there is steady growth of trade and investment in industrial and development projects between the two countries, as the cooperation between Qatar and Japan has expanded from the energy sector to include construction, health, sports, security, education, as well as research and development, he added.
The undersecretary affirmed that Qatar’s participation in the global event comes from its belief in the importance of the exhibition’s theme, ‘Designing Future Society for Our Lives’, which aligns with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Expo 2025 Osaka will be held from April 13 to October 13, 2025, and will cover three sub-themes: saving lives, empowering lives, and connecting lives. The expo will address how to build sustainable social and economic systems of the future that draw on robotics, modern tech, and artificial intelligence.
