Minister holds trade talks with ASEAN envoys

Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani met with a delegation of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) headed by Ambassador of Indonesia to Qatar HE Ridwan Hassan and featuring the participation of heads of diplomatic missions of ASEAN member states.
During the meeting, the officials reviewed the relations between Qatar and ASEAN in the fields of trade, industrial and investment as well as ways to enhance and develop them.
The minister highlighted the economic policies Qatar had put in place to support the private sector, including the incentives, legislation, and investment opportunities made available in the country.
It is worth noting that the volume of trade exchange between Qatar and ASEAN amounted to nearly $8 billion in 2020, equivalent to 10.2 percent of Qatar’s total foreign trade.
