On the occasion of National Sport Day, Doha Bank (DB) held sports activities that engaged its employees, members of its senior management and the wider local community in Qatar.
On Tuesday, the DB Cycling Team was joined by Dr R Seetharaman, Group CEO of Doha Bank, for a cycling challenge that started at the DB Tower and extended around Corniche Road to reach The Amiri Diwan national landmark.
Rallying Qatar’s wider community of sports and wellbeing enthusiasts behind its National Sport Day celebration, DB also launched a social media campaign, inviting followers to take part in a Q&A competition to test their health and fitness knowledge.
“Less than a year separates Qatar from the world’s largest sports tournament, which has catapulted both the efforts and impact of the Qatar National Vision 2030’s four pillars of economic, social, human and environmental development; a healthy and active nation is an engine of sustainable development and economic growth – nowhere more importantly than in the post-pandemic era – and countries across the globe are recognizing and acting on this reality. This National Sports Day is both a celebration of Qatar’s sports legacy and a reminder that we hold a responsibility, as does our community, to ensure that this legacy is an everyday effort,” said Dr R Seetharaman.
“Doha Bank has long led and engaged in initiatives supporting the wellbeing of its employees through staff tournaments and workplace wellness programs, as well as healthy living for the wider Qatari community through activities of nationwide scale and impact. The investments that we, our employees, and our community pour into our nation’s sports legacy yield long-term results for a productive workforce, a prosperous society, and a strong economy,” he added.
