CB opens Sadara Youth lounge at QU Metro Station

Commercial Bank (CB) inaugurated its first exclusive Sadara Youth lounge at the Qatar University Metro Station Branch on Tuesday.
Making the branch a unique one in Qatar is the fact that it has been designed by Qatar University students.
This branch allowed Qatar University students to unleash their creativity and design their own space through a competition held back in 2020. Commercial Bank adopted a concept designed by the students and brought it to life. It embraces creativity and innovation, something meaningful to students, useful, and yet can still be fun.
Sadara Youth is a proposition that appeals to Qatari nationals and students between 18 to 25 years of age. With a unique banking experience, a dedicated Mobile App and the first in market vertical Visa credit card, the branch is designed with an experiential and educational approach to banking that is quickly making Commercial Bank a preferred bank among the younger generation.
Commenting on this new milestone, Commercial Bank EGM and Retail Banking Head Amit Sah said, “The opening of the Sadara Youth lounge emphasises Commercial Bank’s commitment to innovation and delivering exceptional customer experiences. We are delighted that our joint efforts with the students and the University have been brought forward through the opening of this lounge and the introduction of our new series of presentation topics, CBTalks.”
In a statement issued on the occasion, Qatar University Acting Dean of the College of Business and Economics Prof Adam Fadlalla said, “This lounge will provide a platform for Qatar University students to network and enhance their understanding of banking. It will be an avenue to expand the flow of ideas and development of the local youth as leaders of the future. We are looking forward to strengthening the relationship with the Bank and cooperating with them to deliver the best services to our future generation.”
Talking to Qatar Tribune on the sidelines of the inaugural event, Commercial Bank AGM and Head of Branches Nayef Al Beshri said, “This branch has been designed to suit the targeted customers that are the young generation of bankers, mainly students on top of our regular clients. Through this branch, we aim to raise awareness among the youth about the future banking services they might require.”
“We do believe that if our targeted young clients are exposed to the right financial and banking materials this will create not only a more knowledgeable generation but also a loyal one to the Commercial Bank,” he said.
In terms of the design, he said, “The best way to attract the targeted audience was to involve the students in designing the branch and that’s what we have done. This makes the branch very unique.”
He said, “Since its inception, Commercial Bank has been committed to supporting Qatar’s development by giving back to the wider community through a comprehensive range of meaningful corporate social responsibility programmes aiming to spread awareness in the society in addition to educating and guiding our customers in their banking journey with Commercial Bank.”
“The distinctive style of this branch fulfils the bank’s target in supporting Qatar National Vision 2030, caters to the needs of this segment, especially our Sadara Youth members and also provides them with the ideal location to discuss their banking alongside a fully functional mobile app. We are sure that this branch will attract the interest of the youth segment, particularly from Qatar University to come and explore,” he said.
“Commercial Bank will continue to bring the latest products and services to customers while providing guidance and education specifically for the youth segment. With a core belief that everything is possible, the bank aims to lead the market by delivering innovative unique offerings,” the bank said in a statement.
