Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani met with Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan on Wednesday.
Also present at the meeting was Ambassador of Armenia to Qatar HE Armen Sargsyan and QC General Manager Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi.
The meeting reviewed commercial and economic cooperation ties and ways to enhance them, investment climate in both countries and the possibility of forging partnerships between private sectors companies in a way that develop bilateral trade between Qatar and Armenia.
The Armenian minister called on Qatari businessmen to study the investment opportunities available in his country, noting that Armenia offers a plenty of opportunities in many sectors such as agriculture, livestock, tourism, real estate, and advanced technologies.
For his part, QC chairman praised the friendly relations between both countries, pointing to the common desire of them towards levelling up their economic and trading cooperation.
He stressed the Chamber’s interest to encourage Qatari investors to explore Armenia’s investment climate and benefit from opportunities available in many fields including the food security and modern technology.
It is worth mentioning that the two countries are linked to a set of agreements and memoranda of understanding related to the avoidance of double taxation and, trade, economic and technical cooperation, encouragement, and mutual protection of investments, cultural, agricultural and tourism.
