Amir patronises 15th Education Excellence Day Award ceremony

His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Wednesday patronised the 15th Education Excellence Day Award ceremony at Doha Sheraton Hotel.
The award ceremony was held under the slogan “With Excellence We Build Generations.”
Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Speaker of the Shura Council HE Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanem and a number of sheikhs, ministers and senior state officials and parents of the outstanding students attended the ceremony.
HH the Amir honoured the 72 winners of the Education Excellence Award, who are Master’s and PhD degree holders, university graduates and outstanding primary, preparatory and secondary school students, in addition to the winners in the outstanding teacher and school categories.
A film about the 2022 award and the winners in various categories was screened during the ceremony.
Speaking at the Education Excellence Day Award ceremony, Minister of Education and Higher Education HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi expressed sincere thanks, appreciation, and great gratitude to HH the Amir for his honour and continuous support of the Education Excellence Award since its inception 15 years ago. It indicates His Highness’ interest and keenness to encourage and honour the scientifically distinguished. It’s an expression of His Highness’ belief that Qatar’s real wealth lies in its human wealth, represented by the distinguished elite of honorees in all categories of the award, especially as everyone lives in a changing and competitive world.
The minister said this award has become a national project, sponsored and supported by the state, not only because it reflects the country’s investment in the Qatari person, but because it is one of the effective means of discovering talents and building the national scientific capabilities, which will enhance the human and knowledge capital to build the aspired knowledge society.
She noted that the Education Excellence Award reflects the high level of Qatar’s educational outputs at all levels of study, which contributes to helping the outstanding winners to achieve the standard specifications and conditions for excellence, at all levels including academic level, personal characteristics, self-development, societal contributions, effective educational leadership, and planning skills, in addition to possessing scientific visions as a basic requirement to keep pace with the challenges of the 21st century.
She stated that the path to excellence is taken by the rare elite that deserves appreciation, noting that the winners whose scientific excellence is celebrated today by the nation, will achieve further excellence in the future by dedicating themselves to a journey of science and work.
The minister expressed her thanks to the excellence partners and sponsors, especially parents, teaching and administrative bodies in kindergartens, schools, and universities, for creating an environment that incubates excellence. Also, she thanked the ambassadors of excellence for their cooperation and support, as well as those in charge of the award for making this celebration distinct.
On behalf of the honourees, Maryam Nasser Al Muftah, the winner of the Education Excellence Award in the university student category, gave a speech praising the patronage of HH the Amir to the Education Excellence Award since its first launch, until it became a goal sought by the people of the country, which is confirmed by the increase in the number of distinguished students year after year.
She noted that the distinguished honorees are ambassadors for their countries and educational institutions wherever they go because they are qualified to attain achievements, stressing that the convoy of excellence will continue without stopping for the better to reach the desired goals.
The Education Excellence Award aims to recognize, honor, and celebrate the distinguished students of Qatar, deepen the concepts of excellence and encourage all individuals and educational institutions to develop performance, promote positive trends towards knowledge and scientific research, and spread the spirit of innovation and competition among students, researchers and educational institutions, as well as between individuals and educational institutions in the field of scientific excellence.
The award includes nine categories: the Education Excellence Award for primary school students, the preparatory stage, the secondary certificate, university graduates, master’s holders, PhD holders, the distinguished teacher, the distinguished school, and the distinguished scientific research award. During its 15-year journey, the number of distinguished honorees of the Education Excellence Award has reached about 800 individuals and institutions of various categories.
