Amir opens 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic & Sports Museum

His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani patronised the inauguration ceremony of the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, at Khalifa International Stadium on Wednesday. HH the Amir toured the various sections of the Museum where he was briefed on the museum’s exhibits and its collection that chronicles sports and Qatari athletes, the history of the Olympic Games in Qatar, and the most important developments in sports culture among Arabs in particular and the world in general.
HH the Amir also toured the galleries that house sports collectibles and photos from all over the world, and display screens that include information on the types of sports and Olympic games. The inauguration ceremony included a performance by Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra by the children’s choir, and a speech by Chairperson of Qatar Museums HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani.
HH the Amir then honoured national athlete Mutaz Essa Barshim and Italian athlete Gianmarco Tamberi, champions of the high jump at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The ceremony was attended by HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, Personal Representative of HH the Amir, Chairperson of Qatar Museums HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, and President of Qatar Olympic Committee HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani. The ceremony was also attended by President of the International Olympic Committee Dr Thomas Bach, President of the FIFA Gianni Infantino, and a number of sheikhs, ministers, high-ranking officials and those interested in sports affairs, and guests.
