His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met with ministers of electricity and energy from the sisterly Arab countries participating in the Seventh General Conference of the Arab Union of Electricity, at the Amiri Diwan on Sunday. HH the Amir met with HRH Minister of Energy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Oil, and Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy of the State of Kuwait HE Dr Mohammad Abdullatif Al Fares, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan HE Dr Saleh Ali Hamed Al Kharabsheh, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy of the Arab Republic of Egypt HE Dr Mohamed Shaker El Markabi, Minister of Energy and Oil of the Republic of Sudan HE Eng Muhammad Abdullah Mahmoud, Chairman of the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority HE Eng. Zafer Melhem, Minister of Electricity and Energy of the Republic of Yemen HE Dr Anwar Mohamed Kalashat, Minister of Energy and Water of the Republic of Lebanon HE Dr Walid Fayad and Minister of Energy in charge of Natural Resources of the Republic of Djibouti HE Yonis Ali Guedi. At the outset of the meeting, HH the Amir welcomed the Arab ministers, whishing them success in the conference, which would contribute to strengthening joint Arab cooperation in the fields of energy and electricity. For their part, the ministers expressed their thanks and gratitude to HH the Amir for the warm reception, hospitality and for the support of Qatar for the success of the conference. A number of issues related to developing the electricity and energy sector were reviewed during the meeting. (QNA)
