Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has stressed the importance of concerted efforts by the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to confront the existing challenges.
This came as Qatar participated in the 48th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, under the theme of ‘Building Partnerships for Unity, Justice, and Development’. The Qatari delegation was chaired by the FM.
In a tweet, the FM said, “Pleased to participate in the 48th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which is being held in the midst of a tense international climate, and calls for the joint efforts of Member States to face existing challenges.”
The FM continued, “I would also like to thank the sisterly Republic of Pakistan for its successful organisation of this session, and I congratulate it on the 75th anniversary of its independence and the founding of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.”
Qatar’s participation in the session comes within the framework of its keenness to support the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to remain an incubator and supporter of the issues of the Islamic nation.
